Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I have to wait between sessions?
You need to give your body at least 6 weeks. The suggested time to wait between sessions is 6-8 weeks, that gives us enough time to plan out a killer cover-up with one of Moving Shadows most elite artists, if that's what you're into.
Why are some parts of my tattoo lightening faster than others?
When the ink is applied, it is applied in layers. Some areas of ink are denser than others, so these areas will take a bit longer to lighten but should reach the level of lightness with time. Home made tattoos may fade out faster then that of a professional tattoo.
Will it leave a scar?
Scarring in any situation occurs when the skin becomes damaged. This procedure leaves the treated tattoo area look like a 'superficial burn' wound and generally heals back to original skin texture. It is very important to take special care of your tattoo during the removal process, and are extremely careful not to scratch the skin, pop the blisters, or allow the skin to become scraped or damaged in anyway. You are responsible to ensure you don't get a scar. Do you remember how well you took care of your tattoo when you got it? Well if you take care of your skin, it will take care of you. Following the proper aftercare instructions should help you avoid scarring. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!
How many sessions will I need?
Each person is as individual as their tattoo. Most professional tattoos take between 5-10 treatments. Homemade tattoos usually require fewer treatments.
These treatments are spaced 6 weeks apart until your desired result.
The number of treatments can depend on a number of unpredictable factors, such as:
the age of the tattoo & the colors used
amount of ink used, did your artist pack the color in?
technique your artist used to place the ink & how deep it is in the skin
type of ink used, they contain a mixture of forigen additives
location, location, location! Because not all body parts react the same & heal differently
What are the side effects?
Tattoo removal patients will likely experience minor side effects. They are short-term but worth mentioning. The skin may be red, swollen, and may blister. Blisters can get quite large and at times, cover the entire tattoo. These blisters are superficial and will heal beautifully. It may be uncomfortable for a couple of days. We provide very clear and easy aftercare instructions, for post treatment care. Refer to our aftercare page.
